The Messermeister Meridian Elite 10" Kullenschliff Chef's Knife offers an added features to this classic knife. Kullenschliff, also known as grantons, are indents ground into the blade of the knife to aid food in easily freeing itself from the knife blade as soon as the food has been cut.
These indents fill with juices and fats from the food, which reduce the chances of food sticking to the blade. Each blade is fully forged from a single billet of the finest German steel alloy. The knife gradually taper from the spine of the blade to the 15° "Elite" edge. Every blade is hand polished for a specular shine.
Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will give more life to your blades. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
