The blade of the cleaver is heavy and rigid, and includes a hole in the end for hanging on a hook. The length of the 10" blade allows for longer strokes, cutting down on the time spent preparing the meat.

Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will help extend the life of your blade. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry, and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
