The Messermeister Meridian Elite 7" Kullenschliff Santoku Knife is a great addition to any knife collection. The granton edge on the blade helps keep foods from sticking to the blade while cutting. Much like the chef’s knife, the Santoku knife works well for chopping, cutting, slicing, dicing, mincing, and many other cutting tasks in your kitchen. The wider blade is also useful for crushing garlic cloves. For a more hygienic handle Messermeister chose to use a "POM" handle. This type of handle does not promote the growth of bacteria. The handle of the knife is triple riveted to the blade and blends in seamlessly with the bolster.
Properly caring for your Messermeister knife is very important, and will help extend the life of your blade. Maintaining a sharp edge on your blade and keeping food from drying to it can help prevent injury while using your knife. After you are finished with your knives, clean them with warm soapy water, fully dry, and safely store them in a blade guard, knife block, or an in-drawer storage tray. Do not wash your knives in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.
