The Wüsthof Classic Hollow Edge Nakiri 5”Knife is a part of the best-selling Classic Series. The Classic line includes full-tang knives that are forged from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel. The full tang blade is triple-riveted to the handle and tempered to 58? Rockwell.
Nakiri knives are designed with a thinner blade than the traditional Cook or chef knife. The edge of this Wüsthof Classic Nakiri knife has evenly spaced indentations to create small air pockets between the blade the food. These air pockets gently push the food off the blade to reduce drag and sticking to the knife. Starchy vegetables, like potatoes, are easy to cut with this Nakiri knife. Unlike the Santoku knife, the Nakiri style knife does not come to a point at the end, but forged with a square blade end. A Nakiri knife requires a chopping motion and products clean, even cuts.
This Wüsthof knife has a full bolster and finger guard at the end of the durable polyoxymethylene (POM) handle. The handle has a traditional look and feel, and includes the red Trident logo.
